Stanley Black & Decker provides disability benefits that offer financial security if you are not able to work due to illness or injury. Short-Term Disability (STD) and Basic Long-Term Disability (LTD) are offered at no cost to you.
Short Term Disability
You may receive STD benefits for up to 180 days for an approved disability. Benefits vary based upon whether you are an hourly or salaried employee.
Long Term Disability
- If you are eligible for LTD benefits, the options and cost will be displayed on the benefits enrollment website.
- Both options have a $15,000 monthly limit.
- Basic LTD replaces up to 40% of your benefits pay.
- Supplemental LTD replaces an additional 27% of your benefits pay (for a total of 67% between Basic and Supplemental coverages), which you can enroll in at competitive group rates.
- If you enroll in Supplemental LTD for the first time, pre-existing limitations may apply and coverage is subject to actively at work provisions.
- Employees who enroll for the first time have to be actively at work on Jan. 1, 2024, for Supplemental LTD coverage to begin on Jan.1, 2024. Otherwise, coverage will take effect on the date the employee returns to work.
