Commuter benefits allow you to put money from your paycheck aside each month, before taxes are taken out, for qualified mass transit and parking expenses. You can contribute from $1 to $270 separately for both mass-transit and parking, for a total pre-tax benefit up to the current IRS allowable monthly pre-tax contribution maximum.
